POSITION DESCRIPTION: Collections photographer

SUMMARY: The IMA is looking for a full time photographer with experience and passion for shooting collection work. The ideal candidate will have strong studio lighting experience as well as the technical skill set necessary to thrive in a fast paced, high volume digital studio environment. The candidate will bring innovation to high volume photographic workflows while striving to improve the quality of imagery produced. The photographer must be able to multitask, prioritize, and work accurately and efficiently and in an organized manner to meet expectations in a deadline-driven environment. The photographer must be able to work collaboratively across departments and in a team environment. This position is a grant funded full time position with benefits for a 23 month contract starting September 1st.

Experience and Attributes:

* Strong photographic lighting and compositional skills.
* Proactive problem solving, both technically and creatively, with constant attention to detail and process improvement.
* Has proven experience and can excel and thrive in a studio environment that straddles both a high-volume workflow as well high imagery standards.
* Strong on-set skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent and proven range of photographic and post production skills.
* Utilize Photoshop to perform image correction, digital retouching, and other image manipulation services as needed.
* Ability to follow efficient workflows to meet production, quality control, and metadata requirements and consistently meet deadlines

Basic Qualifications

* A strong photography portfolio and a working knowledge of digital photography, lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics.
* 4 year degree in photography and/or related field.
* Fluency with Capture One, Photoshop, and Bridge.
* Proficient on Macintosh (OSX) platform
* Ability to solve technical and procedural problems creatively.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in art handling
* Museum experience preferred but not necessary
* Familiar with Canon camera systems
* Working knowledge and experience with digital asset management software

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Imaging Technician

SUMMARY: The IMA is looking for a full time digital imaging technician to work closely with the collections photographer to manage the capture, processing, and cataloging of images on set. The technician will ensure that RAW images are color balanced, exposed, adjusted and processed to meet the creative vision and technical specifications of the IMA. They will work closely with the internal team to innovate systems and workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong digital imaging experience and will bring innovation to high volume photographic workflows while striving to improve the quality of the imagery produced. The technician must be able to multitask, prioritize, and work accurately and efficiently in an organized manner to meet expectations in a deadline-driven environment. They will be responsible for overseeing color calibration as well as making sure that meta data standards are adhered to. They will also scan existing transparencies of collection pieces and be responsible for proper color matching. They will establish and maintain smooth and efficient workflows within the photo studio as well as work collaboratively across departments. This position is a grant funded full time position with benefits for a 22 month contract starting October 1st.

* On-set experience working with photographers
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly under pressure.

* Ability to solve technical and procedural problems creatively
* Proactive problem solving, both technically and creatively, with constant attention to detail and process improvement.

* Utilize Photoshop to perform image correction, digital retouching, and other image manipulation services as needed.
* Ability to follow efficient workflows to meet production, quality control, and metadata requirements and consistently meet deadlines
